I thought I better get some of these images uploaded today, since we are in a blizzard watch and we can get another 6-12 inches of snow in the next 48 hours. The picture of the pickup is the tunnel in our driveway. There is also one of papabug in the tractor behind the drift, the loader was as high as it would go! Can you imagine if we get the snow that they are predicting?

Stinkbug and Junebug get new doo's

Junebug wanted a new look and she got one. Stinkbug got his FIRST haircut! His cut was full of tears in his eyes and tears in his Mom's eyes, within minutes he went from my baby boy to looking like a little man! Here are some before and after pictures of the kiddo's. Note to anyone that knows Papabug, doesn't Stinkbug's new haircut make him look just like his daddy??!!!

Stinkbug gets his first ride in an Ambulance and hopefully his last!!

I think I have settled down enough to be able to tell you about this story. It was Friday February 6th at 1 am and Stinkbug woke up with a fever, so we gave his some Tylenol and brought him to bed with us. Not really thinking too much about it, (he has had fevers before and this is our second child, no need to take the temperature in the middle of the night....right???) So back to sleep we all went, at 5 the alarm went off and I got up and took a shower, and was checking the computer, when Papabug woke up and we discussed who was going to stay home with stinkbug. I asked, Papabug to go in and check on stinkbug and see if he was still feeling warm. The next thing I knew Papabug was yelling at me to come to the room quick, so I hurried into the room and turned on the light to see.............................................................Stinkbug in a full blown seizure...eyes rolled back in his head, shaking uncontrollably, and drool and foam like substance coming out of his mouth, I FREAKED OUT!!! Thank goodness for Papa Bug, he sat on the bed with him, the entire time, while I went to the phone and called 911.

The call to 911, would be interesting to listen to in retrospect, because all I can remember is that I couldn't figure out how to talk, cry, and breathe at the same time. It is honestly, the worst moment I have gone through as a parent so far!!!

So the ambulance was dispatched and Papabug and I were trying to figure out what we were going to do with Junebug, since she was still sleeping. I was watching out the window for the ambulance as Papabug was keeping a close eye on Stinkbug, when Junebug woke up and I told her that the ambulance was on the way, and that her brother had just had a seizure as calmly as I could at that point, not wanting to freak her out. She looked at me and asked "what is a seizure?" I explained it to the best of my ability and then she just looked at me with the look like I was dumb, and said Mom, "why didn't you just tell me he had a break down!". And that was it. She was as calm and cool through the rest of the events.

So the ambulance comes and we are off to the hospital, and the Dr checks him out, takes urine with a catheter from him, checks his ears and lungs and comes to the conclusion, that he has no infection, and that what he has is viral and that he has had a febrile seizure. Which is caused by a fever spiking too fast and the body not being able to keep up. Since he had one, he does have a greater chance of having another one, or he may not ever have one again. I personally am going for the second option. The doctor did also say that kids grow out of these by the age of 5.

I leave you with one final thought, after expeierencing this with my child, I am thankful that I am not the Mom's out there, that has to deal with a child with epilepsy of diabetic seizures, or the Mom's out there that have childern with other illnesses and have to deal with their childern having seizures multiple times a day, my heart and prayers go out to you!!

I will take my child that has had a febrile seizure and sleep with one eye open everytime he runs a fever.

The bug family is back, with a missing tooth!

So I took a little hiatus, but now I am back and refreshed, I think. We have had a lot go on in these past couple of months, so we will start with the thing that happened most recently. Junebug LOST HER FIRST TOOTH!! YAHHHOOOO!! She has only been wanting to lose a tooth for the last 3 years and it finally happened. This is how the story happened...Junebug and Stinkbug were eating a plate of chips and cheese, when all of a sudden Junebug yelled MOOOOOOOOOOOM, and came running at me and said my tooth as she threw it into my hand and headed for the bathroom to check out, how she looked in the mirror. Then that followed with Stinkbug yelling MOOOOOOM as he came running toward me and took out the chips and cheese that he had been chewing and threw it into my other hand, and he looked at me and said tooth and then turn to run to the bathroom to see what he was suppose to do next. The next thing that followed was both of my children exiting the bathroom with Kleenex's stuck in their mouths, those quickly got replaced with washcloths. I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Junebug will be published!!

We received a letter the other day from the Young Poets Collection, and Junebug's poem that she wrote, will be published in the Young Poets Collection book next year. Here is the poem that she wrote:

The Tiger
Tiger has a tail
He can also fail
It can climb rocks
It can see a dock
It can roar
And it can snore
